Job Overview

1. Pre-Sales Engineer / Senior Expert – Fiber Deployment | FTTx | FTTH | Fiber Backbone Networks
Key Responsibilities
- Review and analyze RFPs/RFQs, client requirements, technical specifications, drawings, scope of work, and tender conditions.
- Assess tender requirements for FTTx/FTTH access networks, ODN infrastructure, and metro, regional, or long-distance fiber backbone links.
- Prepare and review fiber network designs, route plans, network architecture, and deployment concepts in line with client requirements.
- Evaluate route survey information, GIS/KMZ data, existing infrastructure, right-of-way constraints, duct routes, pole routes, and deployment risks.
- Develop and validate BOQs, material take-offs, and cost estimates for fiber cables, ducts, microducts, poles, chambers/manholes, handholes, closures, splitters, ODFs, cabinets, and customer drop connections, as applicable.
Minimum Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree or diploma in Telecommunications Engineering, Electrical Engineering, ICT, or a related discipline.
- 5–8 years of relevant experience in fiber-optic network design, planning, pre-sales, tendering, or proposal engineering.
- Knowledge of FTTX/FTTH network architecture, ODN design, splitter planning, feeder/distribution/drop network planning, and fiber capacity calculations.
2. Pre-Sales Engineer / Senior Expert – Civil & Construction | Telecom & Power
Key Responsibilities
- Review client RFPs/RFQs, technical specifications, drawings, and tender documentation.
- Prepare comprehensive technical proposals, including compliance matrices, construction methodology, work programmes, organization charts, and safety plans.
- Coordinate site surveys and assessments, including topographical information, geotechnical report reviews, access constraints, and telecom tower location validation.
- Prepare detailed BOQs and material take-offs for excavation, concrete, reinforcement steel, tower erection, fencing, earthing, and related civil works.
- Develop cost estimates and pricing schedules in coordination with Procurement and Finance.
- Support tender clarifications, client presentations, technical discussions, and negotiations.
Minimum Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree (BSc) in Civil Engineering.
- 5–8 years of relevant civil construction experience involving telecommunications towers, transmission lines, and substations.
- Advanced or expert proficiency in AutoCAD.
- Experience with STAAD.Pro and/or MS Tower; PLS-CADD and/or PLS-Pole for transmission-line work.
3. Pre-Sales Engineer / Senior Expert – HV/MV Power Pre-Sales & Tendering Engineer
Key Responsibilities
- Review and analyze RFPs, RFQs, tender documents, technical specifications, drawings, and contractual requirements.
- Prepare tender compliance matrices and identify technical deviations, exclusions, risks, and clarification requirements.
- Coordinate the complete tender preparation process from initial review through final submission.
- Prepare and review Bills of Quantities (BOQs), material take-offs, and equipment lists.
- Develop technical proposals for HV/MV substations, transmission lines, and protection and control systems.
- Evaluate tender requirements for HV/MV substations, transformers, switchgear, circuit breakers, and associated equipment.
Minimum Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Power Systems Engineering.
- 5–10 years of relevant experience in pre-sales, tendering, proposal engineering, or bid management within the power sector.
- Previous experience working on power infrastructure tenders in African markets.
- Familiarity with regional utility procurement procedures and public or private sector tender requirements.
