Job Description

Sales & Admin Assistant (Customer Calls & Bookings)

| Location: On-site | Type: Full-time

ABOUT TIYENI MOBILITY

Tiyeni Mobility is a two-sided platform digitising intercity bus operations across Southern Africa. We help bus operators stop losing revenue to manual, paper-based ticketing, and we help travellers search, compare fares, and book tickets online.

THE ROLE

We're looking for a Sales & Admin Assistant to be the friendly, reliable voice of Tiyeni for our customers. You'll handle incoming calls and WhatsApp messages from travellers asking about prices, routes, and bookings - checking accurate fare and schedule information on our platform and helping customers complete their bookings with confidence. This is a customer-facing role that keeps our booking pipeline moving and our customers happy.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Answer incoming customer calls promptly and professionally, addressing questions about routes, fares, and bus timetables
• Look up real-time prices and schedules on the Tiyeni platform to give customers accurate, up-to-date information
• Confirm and assist with bookings over the phone and via WhatsApp, guiding customers through the process
• Respond to WhatsApp messages in a timely, courteous manner, resolving queries or escalating where needed
• Keep basic records of customer interactions, bookings, and recurring questions or issues
• Flag pricing errors, booking problems, or recurring customer complaints to the team
• Support light admin tasks related to customer service and booking coordination as needed
• Maintain a helpful, patient, and professional tone at all times, representing the Tiyeni brand well
• Onboard new B2B bus operator users onto the Tiyeni SaaS platform, walking them through setup
• Train Booth Ticket Agents on how to use the platform's core features (ticketing, route management, sales dashboards)
• Act as a first point of contact for onboarding questions and basic troubleshooting, escalating technical issues to the product/tech team

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Tech-savvy and comfortable learning new software quickly - able to confidently demo and explain a platform to non-technical users
• Comfortable using smartphones, WhatsApp, and web-based tools/apps to look up information
• Strong customer service instincts - patient, polite, and solutions-focused on every call
• Good attention to detail, especially when confirming prices, dates, and booking details
• Able to multitask calmly, particularly during busy call periods
• Reliable, punctual, and comfortable working set shifts
• Prior experience in a call centre, front desk, customer service, sales support, or client onboarding/training role is an advantage, but not required

NICE TO HAVE

• Experience in the transport, travel, or logistics sector
• Familiarity with basic booking or POS systems
• Prior experience onboarding or training users on a SaaS or software platform
• Fluency in additional local languages relevant to our markets

WHY JOIN TIYENI

You'll be part of a small, fast-moving founding team building purpose-built technology for an industry that's long overdue for it. You'll work closely with the founders, see the direct impact of your work on real customers and real operators, and grow as the company grows.
