Simba International School is seeking to recruit a competent, organized and suitably qualified Laboratory Technician to support the effective delivery of Science teaching and learning across the school.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that the Science laboratories are properly prepared, safe, well-maintained and adequately equipped for practical lessons, experiments and examinations.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare Science laboratories, apparatus, chemicals and other resources for practical lessons.
• Support teachers in the preparation and execution of practical Science activities.
• Ensure laboratory equipment and materials are clean, functional and safely stored.
• Prepare practical materials for Cambridge IGCSE, AS & A Level and other Science examinations where applicable.
• Assist with the safe disposal of laboratory waste and hazardous materials in accordance with established procedures.
• Ensure laboratories comply with school health, safety and risk-management requirements.
• Support practical demonstrations and experiments as directed by Science teachers.

Qualifications and Experience

• Diploma or Degree in Laboratory Technology, Applied Science, Biological Sciences, Chemistry, Physics or a related field.
• Previous experience working as a Laboratory Technician, preferably in a school or educational institution, will be an advantage.
• Practical knowledge of laboratory procedures, equipment, chemicals and safety protocols.
• Familiarity with Cambridge Science practical requirements will be an added advantage.
