About the Young Professionals Programme

The United Nations Young Professionals Programme (YPP) is a recruitment initiative that provides talented young professionals from participating countries with an opportunity to begin a career as an international civil servant with the UN Secretariat.

2026 Examination Area: Development and Sustainability

The 2026 examination area covers the following fields:

• Economics
• Statistics
• Social Affairs
• Environment
• Sustainable Development

Eligibility Requirements

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

• Be a national of a country participating in the 2026 YPP examination.
• Be 32 years old or younger by 31 December 2026.
• Hold at least a relevant first-level university degree, such as a bachelor's degree or an equivalent degree of at least three years.
• Be proficient in English or French.

Important eligibility notice: Applicants must verify that their nationality is eligible for the 2026 programme. Zambia is not included in the official list of participating Member States for this examination.
